IUS boys basketball banquet

The boys basketball team had a banquet for the players to give awards, and to say "thanks" to some of the special people that helped them through the season. Well not only did they basketball players get awards, they were nice and gave all of us cheerleaders trophies also. I thought it was very nice of them, they didnt have to do that.

Hello

So cheer is over and its been about a month! I never thought that I would miss it the way I do. For the last month or so I have been trying to decide if I was going to cheer next year. Well I have finally made my decision. I am going to cheer. I figure that I wont be able to cheer my whole life so I might as well live it up now! I am happy with my decision and now its just waiting for tryouts!

We made history!!!!!!!!

wake up at 8:00am. to eat some breakfast, go to practice from 10:00am-noon, get ready, and compete at 6:40p.m..thats what our day looked like...we are back in the practice room warming up tumbling and stunts...the feeling you get back there is awesome, you are nervous, excitied, scared, and many more. The best way to say it is your ready to show off what your team can do! They say the magic words "IUS your on deck," which means we are next! Holy hell, its really time. LETS GO LADIES.
WE DID IT...we hit a PERFECT routine! and now time to wait until awards..this time is HELL on your mind. you sit there wondering if the judges liked you, if they liked the rountine, how the other teams are going to do. and in the back of your mind you hope they fall! it might sound selfish but you want the best for your team.
WE WON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the first team to ever compete for IUS and we did! all the blood, sweat, and tears were worth it. we won NATIONAL CHAMPS AND SPORTSMANSHIP AWARD! when we heard the second place team wasnt us..we knew we had first.. Best feeling in the world

Myrtle Beach

We started off Friday morning with a practice to see how we were doing on our routine...and must I say it was the best practice we have had this season. It has finally hit us, ITS TIME TO SHINE. We were all working together and hit EVERYTHING..I have gotten closer to everyone on the team..Im ready to do this, ready to win, and I can tell in everyones faces they are too.....Look out IUS is here....and we ARE going to win!

NATIONALS

wish us luck....we left at 6:00 am..on Thursday March 19 to take on this 12 hour drive to Myrtle Beach to go to NATIONALS...This season has went by soooo fast. from the games we had to cheer to learning our routine..This is the test of time! The test of all our blood,sweat, and tears! LETS GO LADIESSSS

2 weeks

We have two weeks left until we make that drive to Myrtle Beach! I'm so nervous about it! We have had some good practices and some REALLY bad ones..All the girls on the team are awesome next year is going to be really weird if I decide not to cheer. Dont get me wrong I love cheerleading but it really does take up alot of time and between cheer and school I have not had alot of time work and I need MONEY!!! Honestly who doesnt tho...well we have practice so I'll write Thursday and tell you how that goes.Wish us luck

Hello, my name is Becky Kelley. I am a freshman at IUS and I'm also a cheerleader. I have never done this whole blog thing, but it was something I had to do for a class.(which is a wonderful class). But anyways..back to cheerleading. This year is the first year IUS cheerleaders are going to compete. So far is it going ok. We have our ups and our downs but over all we are a good team. There is 13 girls on the team, but we started with 18 so if that says anything! We have our fights but you try putting 13 girls together and do the stuff that we do and see theres no fighting, its all in tough love tho! well I will get back to you and tell you how its going!
